DOW-UAP-D014, Mission Report, Iraq, May 2022

This is a standardized U.S. Military Mission Report (MISREP) released by the Department of War as part of its UAP disclosure and forwarded to AARO. According to the report, an Air Force ISR asset (50th Attack Squadron / 432 AEW) took off from Sigonella Airbase (LICZ) and conducted SIGINT and IMINT collection in operational area 41EMD over the Eastern Mediterranean in support of the 603 AOC, tasking against Syrian naval operations, coastal defense sites, and Russian naval and air activity near Latakia and Tartus. At 0117Z on 30 May 2022, an operator/screener observed one possible small UAP flying north to northeast and followed it as long as possible but could not obtain a positive identification. The mission also logged a reaction by 1–3 aircraft including a possible Russian Aerospace Forces SU-30 that approached within approximately 5NM, and observation of probable SU-27/35 activity near Bassel Al Assad International Airfield. The releasing agency notes all descriptive language reflects the reporter's subjective interpretation and is not conclusive evidence of any object's features or performance. The document was declassified by MG Richard A. Harrison, USCENTCOM Chief of Staff, on 8 October 2025 and approved for release to AARO. Portions are redacted under classification and FOIA exemptions.
