DOW-UAP-D027, Mission Report, United Arab Emirates, October 2023
This is a standardized U.S. Military Mission Report (MISREP) approved for release to AARO and declassified by USCENTCOM. During Operation ENDURING SENTINEL, a 3 SOS / 27 SOW ISR aircraft operating out of OMAM (Al Dhafra AB) conducted tasking over the Gulf of Oman region. At 070457Z JUN24, during return-to-base, the crew detected one UAP while transiting at approximately 23,999–24,000 ft MSL at a speed of 163 knots. Per the source page, the observer estimated the UAP's speed at 163 knots (187 mph) at an estimated altitude of approximately 24,000 feet. The GENTEXT describes a 'glowing hot spherical unidentified object with a vertical unwavering cylindrical pole/bar attached on the bottom,' possibly a reflection in the water, moving at about 140 knots straight and level just over the water. The observer assessed the object as benign, its physical state as solid, propulsion unknown, with no advanced capabilities, no effects on persons or equipment, and no material recovered. The releasing agency notes all descriptive language reflects the reporter's subjective interpretation and should not be read as conclusive about any object features or performance.
Description
A declassified U.S. military Mission Report (MISREP) submitted to AARO documenting a single UAP observation during an ISR sortie over the Gulf of Oman. The report describes a glowing spherical object with a vertical cylindrical bar, observed flying just over the water. Heavily redacted under classification and FOIA exemptions.
