As ail the depression worsens, the CIA has other plans, ineluding brainwashing of the general population--brainwashing of you--using the behavior modifica- tion techniques developed right on this campus. Preposterous you say-- they can't brainwash me! Preposterous ... but wait ... think back to all those “experiments” you participated in, the "moaninglesss" question- naires, the persorality profiles you filled out ... they know you, your loves and hates, your needs, your fears. And the techniques developed on this campus use just that knowledge of you to change your behavior. Behavioral modification to prevent you from making self-conscious, rational, human decisions, and to have you making irrational, compulsive,. bestial Choices instead--impotent programmed choices which render a population docile, Zombie-like slaves, Nah, not me!-~Think-again--think of how you've been reacting to the phony fuel crisis, what you've been "thinking"? about that. "Those dirty Arabs (or Jews), that S,O.B. Nixon, those greedy oil. companies-- or those lousy people who won't turn down their heat, or won't take cold showers or won't drive 0 MPH.'' All those "thoughts" have one thing in common--your impotence, The all indentify the problem away from you and they all say 'I will degrade myself and acknowledge my impoténce a little more today.'’ Your “thoughts" are "decisions" to remain impo- tent--decisions programmed by capitalist ideology. As the depression worsens, and the choices become tougher to take, the devices which play upon your fears, which reduce you to docility, will become more vicious-- until the final program is enacted--the one which calls for you to walk into the ovens. There are self-conscious decisions which can and must be wade today--the decisions which can ensure that the buman race is not doomed to extinction, the decisions which will provide enough food, fuel, and housing for the world's population. These decisions require self,~conscious- ness--the use of your intelligence in the framework of the necessity of human survival. Through the understanding of what's needed now, and your role in that realization and fulfillment, you begin to become a self- conscious person--someone who is impervicus to brainwashing, someone who can realize him or herself as a human being. The NCLC has begun the self-conscious formulation of the programs necessary to feed, house and clothe the word, It is necessary that you begin to partake in the development and enactment of these programs, Tonight we will be discussing the formulation of the world focd program: will you be a self-conscious contributor to the world historical process ?|!
